Meet the Characters

About Amanda

Amanda Sadden is a children’s author and creator of the World of Benjamin, a growing collection of picture books, bedtime stories, keepsakes, colouring pages, and creative adventures for young children and families.

Her stories are inspired by the small but magical moments of childhood: a bedtime question, a walk by the sea, a beloved cat, a funny family memory, a toddler’s big feeling, or the quiet comfort of being safe at home.

Amanda’s books celebrate kindness, imagination, emotional warmth, family love, and the little lights that shine inside every child.

Amanda’s Story

Amanda Sadden began creating children’s books from the moments that mattered most in her own family life: the funny, tender, ordinary moments that somehow become the stories children remember.

From those moments grew the World of Benjamin: a warm, magical picture-book universe where children are lights, feelings are gentle adventures, and every heart has its own beautiful glow.

Amanda writes for children who feel things deeply, wonder about everything, and find magic in the everyday. Her books are made to be read aloud, held close, returned to often, and remembered as part of family life.

Welcome to the World of Benjamin

The World of Benjamin is a picture-book world built around light, love, friendship, family, and imagination.

In this world, every child has a light. Some lights glow golden. Some glow purple. Some shine red, white, blue, or colours not yet discovered. But every light matters.

The stories help young children explore bedtime, bravery, friendship, family, big feelings, kindness, curiosity, and the magic of ordinary days.

Why Amanda Writes

Amanda writes because childhood is short, but the stories children grow up with can stay with them forever.

Her goal is to create books that feel like comfort objects: soft, familiar, beautiful, and full of love. Books that parents enjoy reading, children ask for again, and families keep on the shelf long after the child has grown.

The stories are made for bedtime, rainy afternoons, birthday gifts, library visits, preschool shelves, grandparent cuddles, and those small quiet moments when a child needs to feel close, calm, and understood.
